(Nairobi) – The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a traffic alert regarding temporary disruptions at the Haile Selassie Roundabout on Uhuru Highway (A8).
The disruption will begin on November 28, 2024, and is expected to last until January 17, 2025.
This adjustment is necessary to facilitate the construction of a pedestrian underpass aimed at enhancing safety and accessibility for road users.
KeNHA has urged motorists to adhere to a proposed traffic management plan to minimize inconveniences. Drivers are also encouraged to observe road signs and cooperate with police officers and traffic marshals stationed at the site to maintain order.

The Haile Selassie Roundabout is one of Nairobi’s busiest intersections, serving as a crucial link for traffic flowing in and out of the city.
This announcement comes shortly after KeNHA reported similar disruptions at other major traffic points.
Last week, the Gitaru Interchange on the A8 (Waiyaki Way) experienced lane closures starting November 19, 2024, which will remain in place until December 19, 2024. The disruptions are part of ongoing construction on the Right-Hand Side (RHS) Carriageway connecting the Southern and Western Bypasses.
KeNHA highlighted the importance of the Gitaru Interchange project, stating that it will enhance road safety, reduce travel times, and improve connectivity between key road networks in Nairobi and its environs once completed.

KeNHA has emphasized that all these projects are part of a broader strategy to boost infrastructure, enhance connectivity, and support economic growth across Kenya.
The authority has requested patience and cooperation from the public, reminding motorists to stay informed about traffic changes through official channels.
