(Dar es Salaam) – Vodacom Tanzania has teamed up with PGI Solutions Limited to launch a new service that allows customers to purchase a wide range of products directly through their mobile phones, offering convenient and secure shopping options.
Vodacom Tanzania has joined forces with PGI Solutions Limited to address the challenges many online shoppers face, such as difficulty in placing orders, fraud, and payment security concerns. This collaboration is aimed at making online shopping easier and more reliable for Tanzanian consumers. The partnership will offer a variety of products including electronics, fashion, home goods, cosmetics, and more, all available in one place at affordable prices.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in Dar es Salaam by Josephine Mushi, the Manager for Online Payments and Digital Systems at Vodacom. She emphasized that this new service would enhance the online shopping experience for Vodacom customers by providing discounts on a wide range of products.
“We are grateful to PGI Solutions for bringing this service to our customers. Customers will benefit from discounted prices on any products they choose,” Mushi stated.
One of the key features of this partnership is ensuring that payments are secure. The customer service team will also be available to assist customers and ensure smooth transactions.
Gillsant Mlaseko, the Chief Operations Officer of PGI Solutions, described the collaboration as a game-changer for the online shopping landscape in Tanzania. “This launch marks the beginning of a revolution in how products and services are bought in the country,” he said.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to provide price relief for Vodacom customers and to connect businesses with customers in a seamless and safe way. The service is integrated into the M-Pesa app, where customers can enjoy special discounts and offers on many products and services while making payments using M-Pesa.
Following the launch, Mwananchi spoke with several Vodacom customers to gather their thoughts on how this service would benefit them, especially during the upcoming festive season.
Mwajuma Hamisi, a resident of Makumbusho, expressed excitement about the service, particularly for purchasing products at affordable prices. “If this service is truly launched, I will order various items, especially now as we approach the holiday season when prices tend to rise due to increased demand,” Hamisi said.
Twalibu Waziri, another resident of Makumbusho, said that the new service would greatly assist him in purchasing electronics. “I usually have to visit stores myself, often traveling around to find affordable prices. I’ve always wished I could access these products at good prices directly. Now that there’s this new service, I will start benefiting by ordering online,” Waziri explained.
